At Baffle Filters Direct we recommend Bristream stainless steel baffle type filter panels which have the benefit of a constant pressure drop, are extremely durable, self draining and also provide a positive flame barrier.
The basic function of baffle filters is to remove oil/grease particles from the air produced by the cooking process and guide the oil on a smooth surface to the drain pan and keep the duct system clean. They also reduce fire hazards and minimize maintenance in the overall system.

Baffle filters are much more efficient than mesh filters because they work by changing the direction of the air and the velocity. This then separates the grease from the air stream with the deposited grease running off into grease collection troughs. Baffle filters are suitable for general cooking with moderate grease load applications. These filters should be manufactured from stainless steel only.

Our standard baffle filters are a good quality normal use baffle filter. They are constructed from 0.6mm thick 430 grade stainless steel with a mirror polish and come complete with two handles.

How To Clean Your Filter

Filters must be cleaned using suggested detergent media.
A non corrosive detergent must be used to clean filters. A similar product to washing up liquid may be found to be sufficient for the removal of light grease deposits. For heavy deposits of grease, a stronger detergent is required.
When cleaning any type of filter, if any form of caustic solution is used to soak or clean the filters, this will destroy the filter media therefore this is not a recommended way of cleaning the filter.
